A New York Times article reinforces what the complacent WFS old-timer in yesterday's post was saying: reality is struggling to keep ahead of science fiction ideas such as cloning, teleportation, miniaturisation, etc. Worth it if only for this ludicrous quote from William Shatner:

i also believe that anything is possible however, to make that hapen we have to belive in ourselves. coming from norfolk island, in the south pacific, tele didn't come here until my mum was twenty. we are way behind all other countries in the world. that doesn't matter though because we belive in ourselves enough to deal with it.
